Another birthday celebration
A while back Jordyn asked me if she could celebrate her birthday at school too. So I made sure that I signed her up for summer school the week of her birthday. She told me that they have a special birthday chair and she wanted me to make a special birthday snack to bring to school. She requested chocolate cupcakes with purple frosting and sprinkles. She also asked for Minnie Mouse toppers for girls and Mickey Mouse ones for boys. So that is what my girl got.

40 years! Happy Anniversary Lola and Nono
Jordyn share her birthday with her Lola and Nono's anniversary. It is nice that she was born on such a special day.
This year my baby girl turned 4 and my parents celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary. Without my mommy and daddy I wouldn't be here and the world would never know my dear Jordyn. So here is to 40 years. Mommy and Daddy I love you and appreciate everything you do for our family. Thank you for teaching me about life, love, and devotion.

So the day of her actual birthday was the next day after the party.
We used some of the decorations that I made for the party to decorate the house.
We played with some of her birthday presents. Actually, by the end of the day we played with almost all her presents at some point.
We celebrated her birthday dinner at Farrells.

They sang a special birthday song for her. She wasn't too sure about it all, but the next day she wanted to watch this video again and again and sang along with the video. So she did enjoy it.

After the party, we headed home and opened some presents! With a nice an easy party, no one was exhausted afterwards and so we could take the time to open presents.

The Party!
It was party time. Daddy and I got to the park early to set up and get everything ready. The nice thing about this year was that we planned for a nice small party as compared to our 100 people parties of the past. It was nice to keep it small and easier on our pockets and stress levels. I also think Jordyn was able to enjoy her party more; after all it was her birthday!

The party favors that she helped me to assemble. I designed and printed the Minnies and Mickeys onto white paper bags.

Jordyn requested that we have bubbles at the party and so we had bubbles. We had lots of bubbles and it was tons of fun to have the bubbles everywhere. The bubble maker was a big hit.
The cake. We got a simple sheet cake and I had my friend design some cookies that I used to decorate the cake. It was simple and perfect. Most importantly, it was yummy!! It was really windy and hard to light the candles, so we improvised and she blew out the match instead.
Fun time at the park. The nice thing about celebrating at the park, is that you don't need a whole lot to keep the kids busy. The playground is right there and they love it. Plus, it is easy for daddy and mommy to clean up.

It was such a fun party. All the kids seem to have a blast. They played at the playground, they colored (we had some Minnie Mouse and Mickey Mouse coloring pages), they played with bubbles. They ate pizza (the birthday girl requested pizza, which made it ever so easy since we had the pizza delivered to the park), they sang Happy Birthday and ate cake. Everyone seemed to have a great time. Jordyn didn't want to leave the park even when everyone had already left. It was a great party. The best part of it was that it was what Jordyn wanted. She told us, "This is the best party ever!"

Baby Bear is not really a baby anymore. She is now a four-year old! I think it may be time to stop calling her Baby Bear. I really don't want to, I want her to be my baby forever. Alas, she is growing faster and faster. I wish time would just stop for a moment. I just don't know how it is she is already 4! My little bear is not a baby.

Memorial Day Weekend 2013
For Memorial Day weekend, we decided to take a short little road trip up to Arroyo Grande to visit some friends.
Daddy was happy to borrow the parent's car and have a nice fun and fancy car for the drive.
Baby Bear was good for the ride and brought her little princess along for the trip.
We made a stop for lunch in Santa Barbara/Isla Vista. We walked around and stopped to listen to a band for a bit.
We got there and stayed in the guest house. The weather was perfect and we just relaxed with our friends and enjoyed each others company. That weekend there was a Strawberry Festival in the downtown area, so we headed over to check it out and partake of some yummy strawberry treats. It was much like the Lemon Festival we have at home only with strawberries.
Later in the afternoon, we decided to head over to Pismo Beach to play on the beach a bit. It was crazy windy with sand blowing everywhere. So we didn't stay long. Baby Bear didn't even want to lift her head up to see the beach because it was too windy and sand was getting in her face. So back to the house we headed. We relaxed in the backyard the rest of the afternoon and Baby Bear enjoy herself playing with the little dogs and running around.
We left very early on Monday morning to do our best to beat the Holiday traffic. We did really well on time and got home before noon. It was a beautiful drive home with no traffic.

It was a very nice weekend, low key and a nice time with some friends. It was nice to get away for a little bit and get to enjoy some time together. It was nice to get back early and have time at home to recover from our drive.
It was such a beautiful afternoon that we even got some time outside and Baby Bear played a little hopscotch.
