She is a bobble head when she is in her bumbo seat. It is very cute. I can't believe how strong and big my Baby Bear is getting.

Just Chillin'
Baby Bear wants to sit up all the time; so last week we thought it was time to try out her bumbo seat. She loves it and enjoys the chance to sit up on her own. Baby Bear is getting so strong and she is so curious about the world. She loves to face out and look around. When we carry her she is constantly holding her head up high so that she can check out the world.

Party Girl
Baby Bear was quite the social butterfly this weekend. She went to 2 Bar-B-Ques and a bridal shower. At each party, she was the best baby!! Everyone was in love with her and told me what a beautiful and wonderful baby she is. I already knew that, but it is nice to hear it from others. She had a special dress for each event, here she is in one of her party dresses.

Nasal congestion
Baby Bear has some nasal congestion. Poor baby. I don't think that she has a cold or is sick since she is so happy and doesn't seem to be distressed because of the congestion. I think it bothers me than it does her. She continues to coo and talk up a storm. She only seems upset when I try to aspirate the mucous out of her nose.
Since babies breathe through their noses, I was pretty worried about it last night. I woke up often to make sure she was still breathing and finally brought her into bed with me so that I wouldn't have to get up and check her and so that I can easily sooth her when she was having a little trouble breathing through her nose. She is up this morning and happy as a clam. I guess if she is happy I should stop worrying.

It's my party!!
Sunday, we had a "Meet the Baby" party with family. We did not have a baby shower with family before hand. We thought it would be better to get everyone together after Baby Bear arrived, since we knew everyone would be dying to meet her. It was a great way to get family all together in one place to meet Baby Bear!! Thank you to Grandma Bear for putting it all together at her beautiful home. Along with the delicious catered food, Lola Bear made some traditional Filipino dishes and beautiful flower arrangements.
We had wonderful cookie favors created especially for Baby Bear by A Master Creation. She always does such a wonderful job and these cookies are not only beautiful but they taste really good too. Check out her blog for more pictures.

Together, Papa Bear and I have a very large family and we had many come to see the belle of the ball, Baby Bear. Baby Bear had a wonderful time meeting her family. She was all smiles and had lots to say to her family. She was in a wonderful mood and had a nap in the middle of the party. It was a great party and a great way to bring everyone together to meet the newest member of the family. Thank you to all!!
4 Generations of women: Great grandma, two grandmas, Mama Bear, Baby Bear

3 Generations: Grandma Bear, Papa Bear, Baby Bear

This is just my side of the family (and not everyone made the party). We didn't get a group shot of Papa Bear's side of the family. But we had about 50 or more people at the party.

Move it!
Today, we went back to our Mommy and Me yoga class. This was our second class and last week Baby Bear was not so into the class, so it was quite challenging. Today, Baby Bear was in great spirits during the class and we both really enjoyed it. I was able to get into it and Baby Bear was happily watching the other babies in the class and looking around. She was in such a good mood; she enjoyed the interactive poses and practice and I was able to get into the poses. After class, the yoga instructor mentioned to me that my yoga form was great and asked how long I had been practicing yoga. What a great compliment. Yay, mommy and me yoga was a success. I am looking forward to next week.
I am feeling better. I still have that last 10 lbs to lose, but I am feeling better about things and being able to move more. I just started to jog a little with Baby Bear in our BOB jogging stroller. (I realize that you are not supposed to run with a baby until they are 6 months, but Baby Bear is in her infant car seat and I am not really running. In fact, you can barely even call what I am doing a jog and I am definitely not going any faster than a car would, so I think we are fine.) The first day I tried to jog, I realized the importance of a supportive sports bra. I am not used to having much in the boob department (I am usually a small B cup), LOL!! The next time we went out this week, I was a little more prepared. It feels really good to move and do a little more than walking. Hopefully those 10 lbs. will start to disappear.

Baby Bear does tummy time
Baby Bear is getting so strong and working on her neck and arm muscles. She is tolerating tummy time a little more. I think the Boppy pillow and the mirror help.
Update: I guess I had the video on private. I changed that. Sorry.

Ohmmm
Baby Bear and I went to a Mommy and me yoga class this morning. Of course, Baby Bear decided to be fussy and Miss Crankypants (she is usually very happy in the mornings). She slept really well last night, she went to bed at about 10 pm and she woke up at 3 am and 7 am to eat. She is getting closer to sleeping through the night. She was well rested so I thought all would be well. She usually falls back asleep after eating around 6 or 7 am and sleeps until about 8 or 9 am. Today she did not fall back asleep. Around 9 am, she seemed hungry and I tried to feed her before leaving for the yoga class, but for some reason she would just scream at the boob. I have no idea what was the problem. She was tired and so I figured I would get her in the car and head over to yoga and just nurse her there. She fell asleep in the car as I expected.
There were babies of different ages from about 2 months to 16 months and toddlers as well. It was pretty fun to incorporate yoga with my baby. Baby Bear was fussy through out the class and didn't eat until the very end of the class. I tried to nurse her several times during the class but for some reason she would latch and eat. She was obviously hungry. It was very stressful, which defeated the purpose of taking the yoga class in the first place. It may not have been the most successful yoga class I have taken, but it was nice to meet other mothers and it is a good way to fit in yoga with Baby Bear
We will try again next week. Hopefully, next week will be better and Baby Bear will relax and enjoy yoga.

2 month doctor visit
Today, Baby Bear had her 2 month appointment with the pediatrician. She is healthy and doing very well. She is 11 lbs 9 oz and 22 inches! Her head circumference in 15 inches. My baby girl is growing so fast. Just last week she was 11 lbs 2 oz. Of course, she had just eaten when the nurse weighed her today so she may have been a few oz heavier.
Baby Bear received some vaccinations at this visit. My poor baby had to have 3 shots (Hep B and two other combo shots) and an oral vaccine (Rotavirus). She was so happy and good through out the visit, then came the shots and she screamed and cried. I felt so absolutely awful. Then the nurse started to give her some of the oral vaccine and Baby Bear vomited. They waited a little while to give her a little more and she vomited again. They waited a little longer and gave her the rest and luckily that time she was fine. I don't know if she really got any of it. My poor baby was so miserable. It was a rough morning for her. I just held her close to comfort her and felt so bad.
Afterward, we went to our last meeting of our mommy group. Baby Bear did well there and seemed to do well the rest of the day. She didn't have a fever and she didn't show any reactions to the vaccinations. I was very thankful for that. She slept well the rest of the afternoon.
It does seem like way too many vaccinations for a little baby and I am wondering if I really want them to give her so many at once. At the next appt, she will have one less shot and they may not give her the oral vaccine due to her reaction today. I know there are other options in terms of vaccination schedules so I will have to do a little more research on that. No matter what it is very important to me that she be vaccinated. I think today was so much harder for me than it might have been for her. I just hated seeing her so upset.

I have a 2 month old!!
I can't believe that Baby Bear is two month old today! Two months went by so quickly, yet on the other hand, it was the longest two months in my life. Baby Bear weighed in at 11 lbs. 2 oz last Thursday. She will have her two month doctor visit tomorrow and we will see where she comes in and how long she has grown. She has really grown from that tiny baby that came into the world just 2 months ago today.
Isn't she just so beautiful. I just love that smile! She makes my world a better place.
It is so strange that she has only been here for 2 months because it seems like she has always been here with us. We have our challenges (but what baby isn't a little challenging) and despite those challenges, I can't imagine a world without her. Each day she lights up my life with that beautiful smile. Things are definitely getting easier, I am better able at reading her cues and we are learning so much from each other. Each day I see her grown and learn, it is amazing how much development happens in such a short time. In about a year or so she will be walking, then talking. I am enjoying this tiny baby time as much as I can and sleeping as much as she will let me. Before long she will be so big.
I love my Baby Bear! She is the absolute best thing in my life.

Baby Bear's first (play) date
Baby Bear had her first date, play date that is. We had a great time with Charlie and his mommy.
Charlie is pointing something out. Hey look at that!
