"It's not a picture!"

Baby Bear is not a baby anymore. She is writing and creating pieces of art now. Here is some of her latest work.

Crafty with mommy

This weekend we completed a little craft to get ready for Valentine's Day. Baby Bear wanted to decorate so we did.

I was inspired by pinterest and found this nice, simple, and relatively clean little craft to do.



I drew some lines for her to cut and she cut the "strips" of paper. I also cut strips of paper that we used for the final project. She enjoyed cutting and working on her cutting skills. After the strips were cut, I stapled the hearts together and punched the holes, instructions found here. Baby Bear tried to help with a couple but the stapler and hole punch were a little hard for her to do.

Baby Bear threaded the yarn through the hearts. (A little tip, tape the end of the yarn so it doesn't fray and it makes it easy for little hands to thread).



I tied off the ends and tied onto our chandelier and voila, decoration done.



Baby Bear was quite proud of her decoration.

Follow the map

Lately Baby Bear has been very interested in drawing maps. She likes to draw a map to tell us how to get places. She is a great little navigator. She is an expert, LOL.

Interviewing Jordyn

I thought it would be a good time to interview Baby Bear at the beginning of the year and I will interview her again each year to see how her answers change over time. It was fun to see all of her answers.

2013 So far...

So finally getting caught up with the blog and all that happened over the holidays now that we are half way through the first month of the year. So far 2013 has been treating us well.

We had a visit with some friends. It was nice to be able to have time with friends.

New Year's Eve

We spent New Year's Eve with our friends, actually exchanging gift for Christmas with each other.

A fun time was had. Especially among some of the adults.

Hanging with Uncle Mike

It was so nice to have Uncle Mike home for Christmas. Uncle Mike lives near Seattle and doesn't get down to So Cal very often. So it is always nice to have time with him. Baby Bear loves Uncle Mike. He stayed a little longer to attend Hanna's debut and stayed with us for a couple of nights. It was nice to get to spend some good quality time with Uncle Mike. Baby Bear loved being able to hang out with him.

We miss him and wish we got to see him more than only once a year. We will have to get up to Seattle to visit him.

Disney on Ice

Johnny got us tickets for Disney on Ice. He was able to get us seats in the suite. Baby Bear absolutely loved it.

She was so excited that she wanted to wear her princess dress.

Hanna's 18th Debut

Our cousin, Hanna, celebrated her 18th birthday. A Filipino tradition is to have a a Debut on a girl's 18th birthday. It is basically like a wedding without the groom. Hanna had a beautiful debut and we had a wonderful time.

Hanna was so beautiful in her princess dress. Baby Bear loved her princess dress.

Nono danced with her after presenting the 18 roses.



Hanna is the president of her Polynesian club and performed with her Polynesian club officers a few dances. Baby Bear loved watching the performances.

A little late posting this Santa photo. Baby Bear was so good this year. No tears. She was shy and quiet, but that is okay. After all he is an old guy who like having kids sit on his lap. I am glad she is a little weary about this.

After Santa left, Baby Bear was blessed with more presents. Being the youngest in the family and only girl, she is quite spoiled by everyone.

He had a special book made for Baby Bear that included adventures with Chase. It was such a nice little memorial for Chase Monster. He had the book made months ago, but it was actually perfect timing for such a thoughtful gift. It is something we will all treasure forever.
