Catching up

It's been over a week since I've blogged. I've been busy with work and life. So here are a few pictures of Baby Bear to catch up a bit...

She loves her Minnie Mouse and friends. Baby Bear is a huge Minnie Mouse fan! It is so fun to see her play with her toys. They talk to each other and she has these conversations that just make me laugh. I really need to discreetly record her.

Every day, Baby Bear's art work is showing so much development. It is really cool to see the progression of the scribbles to distinguishable objects. She drew this house with chalk on the side walk in front of our house last week. She even drew some trees. I didn't see it until the next morning on our way out to school and was really impressed.

Untitled

She is really good at copying shapes and if I draw a simple object she tries to replicate it. Her people drawing are becoming more and more detailed with teeth and hair and bigger eyes. She even draws scary people too.  She is really good at coloring and is pretty much inside the lines (although when she is lazy she just ends up scribbling). I love seeing her creativity.

What a drag... race

A couple of weeks ago, I had to work late, so daddy was in charge of pick ups for the day. He got his work done early and decided to take her for the afternoon to the drag races in Pomona.

She had a great afternoon. They met up with some friends and she enjoyed watching the drags. She is very much her daddy's daughter. She told me all about the fast cars and having to wear her ear phones because it was loud. She always seems to have these fun adventures with her daddy.

Even a week later she was telling me about the earphones.

First Parent Conference

So Daddy and I went to our first parent conference ever. The teachers had nothing but wonderful things to say about our kiddo. They love Baby Bear and think she is great. They love having her in their class. They told us that she is a dear child who plays with everyone both the girls and the boys. She is very confident in herself and can hold her own and play with the boys (some girls get intimidated by the boys, but not her). Lately, she has been playing with the boys (probably because she is sick of the girl drama - who knew that girl drama started so young).

They said they she is doing just fine and that we are doing a great job. She shares with others and is very kind to other kids. You would never know that she was an only child.

We know that Baby Bear is awesome and a great kid. It is nice to have that reinforced and to know that when we aren't around that she is a good kid and good to others. It is nice to hear that she is a kind person that tries to include everyone. What a great quality to have. At the end of the day, we are just trying to raise a child who is kind, considerate, and caring. We hope for her to be smart and confident. I love that she is confident and is able to hold her with the boys. I love it. I hope she will always have that quality.

It was a great first parent conference! Yay!

Feeling the love

Between preschool and day care, Baby Bear was well loved this Valentine's Day.

Making Valentines

We spent part of the weekend making some Valentines for family and friends.

Valentines that Baby Bear made for family.

Untitled

We used some of Baby Bear's past artwork from school to decorate the inside of the Valentines.

Untitled

A good way to re-purpose her millions of art pieces that come home from school.

Untitled

I put together some Valentines for her preschool and daycare friends. I was inspired by several ideas I found floating around on pinterest and designed a little something myself.

Untitled

I am all for non-candy Valentines and figured parents would be happy for that. So we went with Valentine's straws.

Untitled

I also put together a little something for the teachers and Baby Bear's day care ladies. Again, I merged a few ideas from pinterest and designed something for them.

Untitled

I knew I wouldn't have time to bake so I went with something I could put together ahead of time.

I hope everyone enjoys their Valentines.

Kids Space (a late post from January)

I just found a set of picture on one of my disks from the very beginning of January that I totally forgot about. While we were on winter break, we headed out to Kids Space to check it out. Baby Bear and I had a great time together before we headed back to work and school.

Such a fun place. It was just like precshool for Baby Bear and I knew how much she missed school so this was great place to go to and spend the morning. I sure wish it was closer to us, not that a 30 minute drive is really that far. I guess I am just a little lazy sometimes...

We will be making our way back to Kids Space soon...

Happy Birthday Lola

Today is Lola's birthday. We celebrated with her over the weekend. I asked Baby Bear what she wanted to get Lola for her birthday and after some thought she decided she wanted to get Lola a pot because she likes plants. Lola does indeed like plants and has a green thumb. So we went over to Michaels and got a pot for Baby Bear to decorate.

Untitled

Not too bad. Lola loved her pot.

Just Jordyn

Baby Bear loves to be in front of the camera and always has her pose ready for the camera.

One of her standard poses.

She cracks me up.

She also loves to draw, she is becoming quite the artist...

You can see her people becoming more detailed and she is writing her name (see far left)

Putting on a show

Baby Bear enjoys putting on little shows for us. A few little examples...

Fashion Girl

Last week, Baby Bear spent the afternoon and "worked" with daddy after school. She likes working with her daddy and spending time with him. The next day she asked when I picked her up from preschool if she could work with daddy instead of going to daycare. Gotta love her.

When I go home from work later that day, she then decided she wanted to model and be a fashion girl. She picked out a little outfit and asked me to get my camera so that I could take some pictures of her being a fashion girl. Such a little ham.

Later that evening, she decided to put on a show and asked me to videotape it. She is becoming quite the little performer. I love it.
