Catching up

I am a bit behind so I am trying to catch up. Here are a few photos that I took with my phone that I finally had a chance to upload.

In mid June, we moved Baby Bear to forward facing in her carseat. She really seems to enjoy the new view.

We often walk to breakfast at Molly's Souper near our house. They give Baby Bear a tea set to play with which she really enjoys each time we go there.

A couple of weekends ago, we went to the Catalina Ski Race. We go every year and this is the Baby Bear's 3rd one. Baby Bear love the pool at the hotel.

Baby Bear enjoyed having her friend with her.

Talking and dressing

The cord for my little video camera has been in my office for the last few months so I hadn't been able to upload videos and the camera hasn't been charged in months because of it. After moving into a new building at work and finding it was buried in one of my boxes, I finally remembered to bring the cord home to upload photos.

This one was from May. Baby Bear is a great talker and has so many words. Even more so than from May. We can have actual conversations with her. Baby Bear can be shy around other people and very quiet, yet when she is at home she is quite talkative. In fact, Grandma Bear brings Baby Bear to Gymboree every week and her friends there do not know that she actually talks. This video is proof that she does in fact talk, LOL. I'll have to get a more recent video.

A video from June.

Baby Bear likes to dress herself. Lately she really likes wearing "princess" dress. She had seen an episode of Dora where she is transformed into a princess and is in a dress (as opposed to the shorts and t-shirt she regular wears). Since then, pretty much all dresses are "princess" dress, especially dresses with a ruffle of some kind. She is always interested when I wear any kind of dress. She is such a little girl.

Going to the potty

This morning, Baby Bear woke up and asked to go to the potty, so we did. She been asking for several weeks here and there, but has never really gone since that one time. But this morning, she went! She was so excited. She said "I did it!" And we celebrated by singing the "we did it" song from Dora and dancing around. Baby Bear even wanted to empty her pee into the toilet. She was very proud of herself. So proud that she didn't want to put on a diaper or pull-up. I finally convinced her and as she was standing on the mat, she went pee again. This time the pee went all the way down her leg. Luckily, she was standing on the waterproof mat and she didn't get pee on the rug. She was not thrilled about the pee running down her leg. It was a learning experience for her.

Baby Bear definitely shows signs of being ready. She often asks the babysitter to go potty too and give it a try. She shows interest. I think it is time for me to get my butt in gear and get ready to be a little more serious about it. Sigh, my baby isn't much of a baby anymore.

Playing basketball

We got a little basketball hoop for Baby Bear to play out in the backyard. Growing up I had a bsaketball hoop in our backyard and would shoot some hoops with my daddy. I have fond memories of playing basketball. I would never be Lisa Leslie especially with my height. I wanted Baby Bear to enjoy something I did when I was a little girl.

Baby Bear wanted to show her basketball skills to her Lolo Bear and Lola Bear.

I think she really enjoyed her basketball hoop.

Baby Bear got a new water table for the summer with some of her birthday money. She loves water and had a blast playing around with her water table.

Celebrating the 4th!

We celebrated the 4th of July with good friends who live in Wrightwood. They belong to the club there and we got to hang out by the lake and have fun with the kids.

Thunderstorms came into town just after we finished having dinner. We waited for the storm to lighten up before heading home. On the way home we spotted a rainbow. A wonderful end to a great 4th of July.

I like my bike

Lolo Bear and Lola Bear got Baby Bear a bike for her birthday. We found a bike balance training handle to save our backs when we pushed Baby Bear around on her bike.

IMG_4016

Definitely love this new handle and Baby Bear likes it too. She likes her bike and is slowly learning to pedal.

Little Mama

Going on a stroll with her baby doll. She named her baby, Sam.

IMG_4015

I love how Sam looks like she is waving. It is fitting that Baby Bear named her baby doll Sam, the baby doll was a gift from her friend and her friend's mommy's name is Sammy.
