Summer Reading

Since preschool is out and it is officially summer school, Grandma started Lil J on a summer reading program to get her ready for kindergarten. It sure helps to have a grandma who is a retired teacher. Grandma used to teach 1 st and 2nd grade and still has many of her resources. So she put together a little reading program for us to keep Lil J on the right track.

Day 1 and we have already begun to read our books and work on letters. It was all great timing since Lil J had her kindergarten pre-assessment today. I am sure she did well.

Summer beach day

After the last day of preschool, daddy took Lil J to enjoy the rest of the afternoon at the beach. It's going to be a fun summer!

Last day of preschool

It is hard to believe that preschool has come to an end. In the fall Lil J will attend kindergarten (more on that later). I can't believe it. Lil J has enjoyed the wonderful Children's School for the past 3 years. We love everyone there. We did sign her up for summer school so it is not goodbye yet, but we did say goodbye last week to a few teachers and friends who would not be joining us in summer school.

Teacher gifts. Cups with Jamba Juice gift cards.

Pajama day on the last day.

Desert Willow

A few weekends ago we got to meet Desert Willow. Desert Willow is a beautiful race horse in training who has become a part of our family.

Early morning at Santa Anita race track.

Eyre Faire 2014

This is Lil J's final year in preschool. Their annual big fundraiser is the Eyre Faire. It is always lots of fun.

Making Strides for Breast Cancer

Lil J and I walked to cure breast cancer and raise money. My beautiful best friend was diagnosed a few months ago and so we walked to support her. We love her.
