5 days..

I can't believe it. 5 days until Baby Bear's birthday. This time last year, I was huge with swollen ankles and greatly uncomfortable. I was excited and nervous all as the same time. I cannot believe that one year ago I was counting the days until the birth of my baby girl and today I am counting the days until her 1st birthday. Time sure has flown by. It has been the best year of my life and Baby Bear is the best thing that has ever happened to my life. I love her huge smile and her big brown eyes.

The other day Papa Bear and I were laying in bed and talking. We wanted to freeze time and keep her as she is forever. She is just so amazing. Each day she learns something new and just brings such joy to our lives. While we are excited that we will be celebrating her first birthday, we are also a little sad. It is kind of like mourning the loss of our little baby, she will now be a toddler (although she is not quite toddling, but she is pretty close). A part of me wants her to be my little baby forever and the other part of me is happy to see her continue to develop and thrive. Often I can't wait to see what new thing she does next. I am sad to lose my baby, I just want her to stay little forever. I am not ready for her to grow yet. 5 days....

Family Pictures

A few weeks ago, a friend came out and took some family photos of us over at Pitzer College. We got some great shots of Baby Bear for her 1 year photos and some really nice family shots. This is one of my favorite family shots that she took. I can't wait to see the rest of the photos. Thanks Jenn for the great pics!

Social Butterfly

Baby Bear was a social butterfly over the weekend attend two parties and heading on a date with Papa Bear to the Chino Airport Air Show. She had a fun filled weekend.

Saturday afternoon, Baby Bear and Papa Bear went out and about to an Air Show (I had to go to graduation at the college I work at). Baby Bear always has a great time with her daddy. Papa Bear loves his dates with Baby Bear. I am jealous, she gets more dates with Papa Bear than I do.

On Saturday night, we attended a graduation party that Grandma Bear hosted at her home. They had a great band (the same band that played at my engagement party 4 years ago). Baby Bear loved the music. She was dancing and sing along. It was great! She had such a fun time.

On Sunday, she went to a friend's birthday party at a park. It was so much fun. The park had a little pond with ducks and turtles. Baby Bear loved talking to the animals. She was one of the few children that could not walk on her own. She wanted to hold my hands and walk like the other kids. She had such a blast.

Baby Bear is so social and loves being out and about. She is really good when we go to parties, restaurants, and other social situations. She absolutely loves watching the world around her, she is learning so much and I, of course, think she is brilliant!

More teeth?!

Baby Bear has FOUR more teeth popping up. I just looked in her mouth and saw the tips of 3 on top on 1 on the bottom. She already has 8 teeth. So it looks like she will be sporting 12 teeth by her first birthday. Pretty crazy!

Favorite song

Since Baby Bear was tiny, I would play a CD mix in the car when we were out and about. It had some Marvin Gaye and Stevie Wonder. Baby Bear seemed to really like it. Well, we started playing it again in the car and found that Baby Bear still enjoys the CD and has a favorite song that she likes to sing (grunt) along with. Baby Bear likes to kick it with some Marvin Gaye. She especially like "Gotta give it up." Baby Bear has some good taste in music.

I can clap my hands

Baby Bear can clap her hands and blow kisses. It is just so amazing to see her learn and do new and wonderful things.

11 months

I am a little behind but here are some pictures of my 11 month old. Less than a month and I will have a one year old. I can't believe how quickly this year has gone.

New milestones:
  • loves to clap her hands, especially when others are clapping their hands.
  • she will clap her hands on command (if she is in the mood)
  • blows kisses (sans the hands). It is really quite cute.
  • she loves to smile and talk.
  • she is better at eating. she is still not a huge fan of purees rather prefers finger foods.

Look who's 11 months old.

See I can clap my hands.

Big Smile!
