NYC Day 5: A rainy day at the museum
After 4 beautiful sunny days in the Big Apple, day 5 brought by some drizzle. We decided to keep our sightseeing indoors and took the subway to the American Museum of Natural History, which turned out to be a great favorite of Baby Bear's. The subway stop took us directly to the museum entrance.
Baby Bear liked this museum, it was full of interesting things to see.
Baby Bear loved the animals the best, especially the bears.
She also loved the monkeys (didn't get a good picture though). We saw lots of dinosaurs, but Baby Bear seemed to prefer the animals with skin and fur.
There was so much to see.

NYC Day 4: More Big Apple Adventures
After our trip to the Empire State Building, we decided to make our way to Ground Zero.
Not a whole lot to see since the Memorial is still under construction. We did go to the preview center.
It really hit me. It was quite somber and I got pretty emotional, I remember 9/11 and will never forget that day,
After some time there, we decided to take the subway to head over to Washington Square.
Baby Bear called the subway, "choo choo train," which it isn't too different.
Washington Square was a nice little park (any park compared to Central Park is little).
There we saw some street performers. We stayed a while to have a hot dog and watch the performance, while Baby Bear napped in the ergo carrier.
After the performance, we walked over to find McSorley's Old Ale House. It was a saloon that had been around since 1854.
We sat a while and had some beers.
Baby Bear had some milk.
Being that the place has been around since 1854, it has a lot of history to it. This dusty old lamp with wishbones on it had a story to it. When local young boys left for World War I, they put up a wishbone on this lamp and when they came home the took down their wishbone. The ones that are left are the one of the boys who did not return. It is still there and untouched.
It was a good end to a day of adventures around the Big Apple.
Time to hail a taxi back to the hotel.

NYC Day 4: Soaring to new heights
Going to the top of the Empire State Building is definitely must do when at the Big Apple.

NYC Day 3: A day at the park
Central Park is the largest park I have ever seen. Actually we only saw about a third of the entire park and we were there for 3 hours!
It is this massive park in the middle of the city. Just unlike anything I have ever seen.
They have an ice skating rink, I am pretty sure more than one. This was the one we saw.
Baby Bear sure did enjoy walking around.
It is a beautiful park with 20 playgrounds (we only visited one)!
Baby Bear sure did enjoy the playground.
Going back for more.
Stopped by Strawberry Fields.
There were a few lakes.
So interesting with the tall buildings in the background.
More park.
A castle somewhere in the middle of the park (Belvedere Castle).
Beautiful views.
Climbing around.
It was getting cold and Baby Bear was a little snotty faced.
Time to head back to hotel and rest up. We had walked so much and the park was so massive, we decided to take a taxi back to the hotel. We rested up and took some naps, then headed for Little Italy for some yummy Italian food. Another great day in the Big Apple.
