Not a whole lot to see since the Memorial is still under construction. We did go to the preview center.
It really hit me. It was quite somber and I got pretty emotional, I remember 9/11 and will never forget that day,
After some time there, we decided to take the subway to head over to Washington Square.
Baby Bear called the subway, "choo choo train," which it isn't too different.
Washington Square was a nice little park (any park compared to Central Park is little).
There we saw some street performers. We stayed a while to have a hot dog and watch the performance, while Baby Bear napped in the ergo carrier.
After the performance, we walked over to find McSorley's Old Ale House. It was a saloon that had been around since 1854.
We sat a while and had some beers.
Baby Bear had some milk.
Being that the place has been around since 1854, it has a lot of history to it. This dusty old lamp with wishbones on it had a story to it. When local young boys left for World War I, they put up a wishbone on this lamp and when they came home the took down their wishbone. The ones that are left are the one of the boys who did not return. It is still there and untouched.
It was a good end to a day of adventures around the Big Apple.
Time to hail a taxi back to the hotel.
